Please note that it may now take 4 - 6 weeks for their result letter to arrive, not the 2 weeks that is quoted in the invitation letter.
This is due to workloads in the laboratories, this does not mean there is a problem with your sample.
Please do not contact the laboratory for outstanding results, or any other enquiry about test results – they cannot discuss results with you and will refer you back to their sample taker.

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

Travelling in Europe

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:
The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.
We do not notify patients of normal test results or results where no further action is needed. If your test result shows that further action is required we will contact you to arrange a mutually convenient appointment with your doctor to discuss the result and/or treatment.
If you have signed up for On Line Access you will be able to view your blood results on line. Contact the surgery if you would like further information on this.
We want to get better at communicating with our patients. We want to make sure you can read and understand the information we send you. If you find it hard to read our letters or if you need someone to support you at appointments, please let us know.
We want to know if you need information in braille, large print or easy read.
We want to know if you need a British Sign Language interpreter or advocate.
We want to know if we can support you to lipread or use a hearing aid or communication tool.

Should you wish to feed your child in privacy please ask at the reception desk and we will find a private area (should all our rooms be occupied we will do our best to find you an acceptable level of privacy with a screen).
