Cervical Smears

Please note that it may now take 4 - 6 weeks for their result letter to arrive, not the 2 weeks that is quoted in the invitation letter.

This is due to workloads in the laboratories, this does not mean there is a problem with your sample.

Please do not contact the laboratory for outstanding results, or any other enquiry about test results – they cannot discuss results with you and will refer you back to their sample taker.

GP Net Earnings

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for salaried GPs working in the Balderton practice during 2015-16 before tax and national insurance was £75,000. This is for 2 full time and 1 part time GPs who worked at the practice for more than 6 months. No data is available for practice profits or locum fees.

It should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice, and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other practice.
